Grand Stair Step Card – A Fun Way to Showcase Designer Series Paper
For today’s project, I’m sharing how to create a Grand Stair Step Card. I call it the “grand stair” style because the steps are much deeper than a traditional step card, giving the card more dimension and allowing your focal points to really stand out.
This layout is perfect for showcasing your favorite Designer Series Paper. You can decorate it with a variety of shapes such as ovals, circles, squares, diamonds, and more. One challenge with some Designer Series Papers is that the pattern only runs in one direction. In today’s video, I share a simple tip for cutting and positioning directional paper so it works perfectly in a diamond shape while keeping the design properly oriented.
Along with the Grand Stair Step Card, I also share several additional tips and techniques throughout the video. You’ll see four different card designs featuring a variety of papers and shapes, including:
- Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper
- Delicate Dreams Designer Series Paper
- Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper
- A traditional step card for comparison
One of the samples uses a die-cut focal point, showing how easy it is to adapt this layout with different shapes and embellishments.
Be sure to watch the video below for all the measurements, cutting instructions, and helpful tips. You’ll find the complete supply list below as well.
