Need a card at the last minute? Come check out those mixed embossing cards. Some I did embossed, stamped, cut, and assembled; others are just embossed strips. So, with any type of embossing folder, this technique can be done, and anytime you get an embossed layer on top of the card, it really gives that texture and a wow effect.
These are very simple. Also, I stay in the neutral tone in the grays, white, and vanilla. So very monochromatic, if you would say. I have the supplies that I used below. Some of the embossing folders are retired. As I said, I just mixed all that I had on hand, just like service leftovers. So it’s a great way to add some, using those embossing folders you got. I have the how-to video tutorial below, and also the easy shopping access to purchase the product.
Stack, Cut, Mix, and Assemble
These are 3 different folders: Fern & Flora with Basic Beige, Sunflower with Basic White, and Floral Spray with Very Vanilla.
Emboss each one, stack, cut, and assemble.
For the best result, the emboss piece measures 3 ¾” x 5,” and the back layer is 4 ⅛” x 5 ⅜,” or for a small gap, you can do the back layer at 4″ x 5 ¼”.
These next three are 3 different folders: Textured Tree Ring (Coming in July) with Basic Gray, Swirls of Magic with Smoky Slate, and Forever Plaid with Gray Granite.
Emboss each one, stack, cut, and assemble.
On the left the back layer is Very Vanilla and the right Basic Black. What color stand out better for you?
Strips for quick and simple
This set of card are all using the same folder Fern & Flora in Basic Beige, Very Vanilla and Basic White.
The next one are strip also of 1 ¼” x 5 ¼” but all using different folders. Fern & Flora with Basic Beige, Sunflower with Very Vanilla, and Floral Spray with Basic White.
Portrait Layout
For the portrait layout the strips are 1 ⅜” x 3 ⅞”and the layer in the back is 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛”
