For today’s blog post, I’m sharing two swing card layouts: a portrait version and a landscape version.
The focus of these cards is the Love Notes, making them perfect for Valentine’s Day. However, as you can see, I didn’t add a specific Valentine’s greeting. That means these cards can easily be used for other occasions too—birthdays, thank you cards, just because, and more.
With both layouts, when you open the card, the focal point swings, creating a fun interactive element. The card also stands nicely on its own, giving it a freestanding display effect.

Swing Card Portrait Layout
Measurements
- Cherry Cobbler 6 ⅜” x 5 ½” score at 4 ¼”; 1 ½” x 3 ½” score at ¾” this is for the hinge.
3 ½” x 4 ¾”, 1 ¾” 2 ¾”. - Love Notes: 3 ⅜” x 4 ⅝”; 2 of 1 ⅞” x 5 ¼”; 1 ½” x 2 ½”; 4″ x 5 ¼”. I share how to trim and cut each piece of paper in the video.
- Basic White: 1 ⅝” x 2 ⅝”.
The “You’re Amazing” is a wobble on the back, so when you move the card, it has some good moves 🙂

Tip to adhere the hinge
See the difference between the two hinges. One I did after I adhered the designer paper, and the other after. Well, I don’t have to explain which one looks better. So in short, adhere the hinge first and cover with the designer paper. Also, it is better to choose the same color as the card base. In this case, the Cherry Cobbler is much better than White.

Measurements
- Cherry Cobbler 8 ¼” 4 ¼” score at 5 ½”.
3 ¼” x 3 ¼”; 1 ½” x 2 ½” score at ¾” this is for the hinge. - Basic White 4″ x 5 ¼”.
- Love Note Designer Paper: 3″ x 3″; 2 of 2 ½” x 4″; 1″ x 4″.
For this one with the purple cup, I hand-cut a second cup and added a wobble.

- Highland Heather 8 ¼” x 4 ¼” score at 5 ½”.
3 ½” x 3 ½”; 1 ½” x 2 ½” score at ¾” this is for the hinge. - Basic White 4″ x 5 ¼”; 2 ⅝” x 4 ⅛”.
- Petal Pink: 3 ⅝” x 3 ⅝”; 3 ⅛” x 3 ⅛”.
- Love Note Designer Paper: 3″ x 3″; 2 of 2 ½” x 4″; 1″ x 4″.
