For today, I’m sharing two cards created with Designer Series Paper, featuring a Gatefold with a Twist. This fun fold is simple to make and is a great way to showcase your two-sided patterned paper.
To create this fold, start with Designer Series Paper measuring 12″ x 5¼”.
Score at 2″, 4″, 8″, and 10″.
On both the left and right sides—top and bottom—take each corner and fold it down to the first score line. Repeat this on all four corners. This will create a fun triangular frame that adds interest and dimension to your card.

One of my samples uses the retired Marbled Elegance Designer Series Paper in red, pink, and gold. It is perfect for the upcoming holiday, Valentine’s Day. The second card features Nature Walk Designer Series Paper. It gives a more masculine look. It works beautifully for many occasions.
Gate Fold With Marbled Elegance Specialty Paper
This lovely paper, the Marbled Elegance specialty paper, is no longer available. However, it is a reminder to dust off some of your paper and put it to good use.
Measurements
- Marble Elegance Designer Paper 2″ x 5¼”.
Score at 2″, 4″, 8″, and 10″. - Basic Black 5 ½” x 4 ¼”, 2 of 2 ½” x 2 ½”, 3 ¾” x 5″.
- Gold Foil 2 of 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”
- Basic White 3 ½” x 4 ¾”.
The heart elements from the Celebrate Love mix and match ephemera pack are also retired products.
Nature Walk Designer For a Gatefold With A Twist
This paper is one of my favorites in this month release. For some, it is more challenging. I bet it’s because it doesn’t have some flowers in the prints 🙂 Although I find it very versatile. The greetings/wording come from the Greeting For All Mix & Match Ephemera pack. I colored them with Granny Apple Green Blends.
Measurements
- Nature Walk Designer Paper 2″ x 5¼”.
Score at 2″, 4″, 8″, and 10″. - Lost Lagoon 5 ½” x 4 ¼”, 2 of 2 ⅞” x 2 ⅞”, 2 of 2 ½” x 2 ½” embossed with the Lovely Stripes, two 1″ square cut diagonal for inside.
- Secret Sea 2 of 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”
- Basic White 3 ½” x 4 ¾”.
Color the bottom wording with the dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. Then, color the entire words over with the light to achieve the ombre look of the greetings. This will create the ombre.
