For today it is all about tips for a Spinner Card with Give It a Whirl Dies. The Give It A Whirl die set such an easy set to make fun spinner cards. Some call it interactive cards, but whatever you call it, these are great for spinner cards for all occasions.
In the video, you will find great tips for using the dies and some extra “Frenchie” tips to make this spinner card spine faster. The video is longer than most of my videos because I shared many tips for this die set.
This new release from Stampin’Up! can be viewed on pages 57 and 163 of the 2021-2022 Annual catalog.
Tips video for a Spinner Card with Give It a Whirl Dies
As mentioned above, this video is longer than most of my videos, but if you love the interactive cards and plan to use the Give It A Whirl die, I strongly recommend viewing this video loaded with great tips. Also, I share from start to finish how to assemble a spinner card.
Hand-Penned Spinner Card
In the die set, it is 4 dies for the opening window. They are the rectangle, circle, hearts, and pie shaps. Tips for each window opening are shared in the video.
The Hand-Penned card is using the rectangle window opening. So many stamps would fit in the opening. I choose the Blossoms In Blooms, so many words fit in the open.
The Hand-Penned designer paper is on sale this month. Time to stock up and save.
Measurement
- Card Base: Basic White 8¼ x 5½ score at 4-1/8. Note the card base is slightly smaller than a regular card base. The reason for a smaller card base is to have an equal proportion of all layers. The top layer is die-cut, so that size was not an easy adjustment so, all the other layers I adjust to flow all together with equal proportion.
- Misty Moonlight 5-3/8 x 4 layer, 2¼ x 1-1/8 frame for the opening window, scrap for the two leaves.
- Top Layers 5½ x 4 Basic White, adhere 4 x 3¼ and 4 x 2¼ of the Hand-Penned Designer paper to the basic White layer. After all, layers are adhere die cut with the die.
- Wheel 4 x 4 Basic White. From the scrap die-cut the little arrow.
- Daffodil Delight scrap for the punch-out flowers.
The color inks are the Misty Moonlight and Daffodil Delight. All supplies are listed below.
Frenchie extra tips for a fast spinner
After creating a few spinner cards, I discover that the wheel to spin was a little hard to reach due to the layer of cardstock. So by punching or die-cut half 1¼ circle in the layer and card base, it was easy to reach the wheel to spin. I call this the fast track of the spinner. So now it is easy to spin, plus I bet that the recipient will notice that It is a wheel to spin without adding the little arrow.
Stay tuned this Friday. I will have the video on how to create the Under The Ocean Scenery card.
