Hello Stampers,
Today it is all about embossing with dies and on specialty paper. One card is embossed with dies and the other card I emboss on the Natural Touch specialty paper.
Did you see my tip video with the Butterfly Bouquet product at the beginning of the month? If not Click Here to view. In that video, I shared how to emboss with dies.
How-To Emboss With Dies
On the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine
- Platform #1
- Clear Plate #3
- Silicone Sheet
- Cardstock
- Dies
- Clear Plate #3
- ONLY use a SHIM (a piece of cardstock at the top) of the #3 plate if the embossing is NOT deep enough. I suggest starting without a shim and see if you need a shim.
If you have the Big Shot I have an older video that I share on how to emboss with dies also. Click here to view the video with the big shot.
Measurement
- Basic White 8½ x 5½ score at 4¼ card base
- Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 layer, 4 x 1 (this piece I use the little lines die for the background), 2 x 2½ (butterfly detail die-cut)
- Shimmery White 5¼ x 4 embossed with dies
- Butterfly Bijou Designer paper for the butterfly
How-To Emboss On Specialty Paper
The new Natural Touch Specialty paper is a very light part. My best advice to emboss with this paper is to use an embossing folder that is not too deep. The Pinewood Planks is as deep that I recommend. If the embossing imprint is too deep it will rip the paper.
After I emboss with the Pinewood Planks I tab the Soft Suede ink pad directly on the embossed paper. This will get all the detail of the wood to stand out. I love the final look of this emboss paper. The Natural Touch already has the wood look to it but I wanted the wood grain to stand out so embossing was just what I needed.
Measurement
- Crumb Cake 8½ x 5½ score at 4¼ card base
- Soft Suede 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 layer, 1½” circle you can die cut the circle in the center of the layer.
- Basic White 5¼ x 6 Stamp all butterfly and sponge with Balmy Blue and Daffodil Delight. Only used the big butterfly for this card.
- Natural Touch Specialty paper 5¼ x 4, 1¼” circle
