Hello Friends,
To is a fun and bright card with the Hey Birthday Chick with the Strip Technique. I did these live last month at Lunchtime on YouTube. I have all detail and measurement in this post and below you can view the replay video.
Do you have lots of patterns or designer paper strips leftover from other projects, that you have no clue what to do with them? If so today’s card is perfect for all this scrap paper.
Strip Technique Background
This looks more complicated than it is. I started with 6 strips of 6 x 1, on a piece of 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 of Basic Black I adhere the 2 longer one diagonal, then adhere the top and bottom. In between each strip, I leave about 1/8″ but I don’t measure anything. All cards will be different a little. See the video to see the process, it is simple.
Measurements
- Card base 11 x 4¼ score at 4¼ (top card is Crushed Curry bottom card is Daffodil Delight)
- Basic Black 2 of 5-3/8 x 4-1/8 One is for the layer and one you will adhere the strips on then trim to 5¼ x 4.
- Pattern Paper 2021-22 6 of 6 x 1 (this paper is for a special promotion NOW see below for all detail)
- Circle 2″ Basic Black, 1¾” Basic White or Granny Apple Green
- Basic White 5¼ x 4 inside
The Happy Birthday is a die in the Birthday Chick dies. On this card, I place a piece of Basic Black on the Adhesive Foam Sheet then die cut to so it is raised up,
The cute wild chick I color with Stampin’ Blends and die cut with the matching die.
