Today I’m sharing how to create a greeting card that holds money. Giving money as a gift is always appreciated because it lets the recipient choose exactly what they want.

The only downside is that mailing cash can be a little nerve-wracking since there’s always a chance it could get lost. I still designed this special card with a coordinating envelope that’s easy to mail (maybe a check would be more safe in the mail but still put a one dollar bill for the effect). Of course, whenever you send money through the mail, there is always some risk, so keep that in mind.

Gear & Textures Metallic Money Holder Card

This card makes me squeal… I just love how it turned out. I made it for my son’s birthday last month. Love the embossed metallic; sure looks tuff:) I shared a video back in January on how to emboss with dies and “weather” or age the metallic. If you missed it or need a refresh, CLICK HERE.

Measurements

• Mossy Meadow card base 9 ½” x 7″, on the 9 ½” at the top, score 3″, 6 ¼” ***to cut out the opening, see video for tips.
• Silver Metallic 3″ x 6 ¾” aged with sand block, embossed with dies and die-cut the large gear for the opening. Use scrap to die-cut the gears. You can do some in gold metallic. Circle frame 2″ and 2 ⅜”.
• Very Vanilla 2 ¾” x 6 ¾”

Envelope in Mossy Meadow

7 ½” x 9 ¼” at the 7 ½” at top score at 2″ and 5 ½” and at 9 ¼” at top score at ¾” and 8″. See video to assemble.

• Secret Sea card base 9 ½” x 7″, on the 9 ½” at the top score 3″, 6 ¼” ***to cut out the opening, see video for tips.
• Delicate Dream Designer Series Paper 3″ x 6 ¾”. Circle frame 2″ and 2 ⅜”. 1 ½” x 2 ¾” inside,
• Basic White 2 ¾” x 6 ¾”
• Envelope same, then the Mossy Meadow about but WHITE.
