For today’s share, I’m sharing a pocket card made out of a 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This is a very simple layout, and it’s a great design to add pictures if you wish, or tuck a special message inside the pocket. It’s also a wonderful card layout when you need many people to sign a card because there are several places to write messages. Think retirement cards at work, baby showers, graduations, or any special occasion where you want everyone to leave a note. You could even add pictures inside for a graduation keepsake.
I just love how easily this card comes together, and the best part is that it fits in a regular envelope. For the card base itself, I used the Everyday Happiness Designer Series Paper, which happens to be retired, but I wanted something neutral, so I could add accents from the Silly Old Bear suite. You can use any type of Designer Series Paper, but I strongly recommend choosing a pattern that looks good in every direction because this paper will be folded and flipped in multiple directions.

The measurements are very simple. Start with a 12″ x 12″ sheet and score at 4″ and 8″. Then turn the paper and score at 5-1/2″ and 10-3/4″. In the video, I explain why you may want to score just a tiny smidge off so the folds work more smoothly. I highly recommend watching the video before folding your paper because I share several helpful tips along the way.
The insert for the pocket is 3 ½” x 5″. I used the Silly Old Bear to add the element on the card.

I’ve included a video below if you prefer to see it step-by-step—I find visual learning makes this technique even easier to master. The video was recorded live. I set it up, it will start where I started sharing the pocket card.
