Today I’m sharing an easy way to add beautiful color to a detailed stamped image. It’s A Magical Vellum Technique with Stampin’ Blends. The trick is stamping on vellum and coloring with Stampin’ Blends—but on the reverse side! This keeps the color soft and smooth while letting the stamped image shine through.
I’m also sharing how to create a marble-look background. Vellum is so much fun to play with. You can emboss it with embossing powder. Add color with Stampin’ Blends. Then give it a light spritz of rubbing alcohol. The effect is truly magical!

This technique is unique, meaning that no two cards are identical. One of the reasons is that the magic happens when we spritz the alcohol. The top card, the base, is Blueberry Bushel.
Measurements
- Card base 8 ½” x 5 ½” score at 4 ¼”or 11″ x 4 ¼” score at 5 ½”.
- Basic White layer 5 ¼” x 4″.
- Color Layer 3 ⅝” x 4 ⅞”
- Vellum and Basic White 3 ½” x 4 ¾”
These are the basic measurements, some I change a little, but overall these are the measurements.

I just love the marble look in the background. Give it a try and till me it this is for you or not. Some may not like it due to the messy look or because they don’t have much of the control over the marbling.
