Today it’s all about gold and silver foil! I’m sharing several fun techniques using foil. Some use sandpaper. Others are washed with rubbing alcohol. Some are enhanced with added color using Blends or regular ink.
Each piece is embossed with the 3D Sunflower Folder, but you can use any folder for this technique. A 3D folder will really make those details pop!

Turn your foil paper into a stunning focal point! In this video tutorial, I share several creative ways to use gold and silver foil.
Two-Tone Gold and Silver on Gold Foil
This is one of my favorites. It’s not just because it is quick. The magic happens when the Gold turns into Silver.
Using a nail wipe pad with alcohol wipes on the gold embossed foil and Voila! The magic happens.
Alcohol and Ink
This is on silver foil. It will add a tint of color with water-based ink. The best tips are to put some pressure when wiping with the alcohol and let it dry. After it is dry, tap the ink pad or drag. You can also use a blending brush or daubers, but I prefer to use ink directly.
Sanding and Ink Direct
Using fine sandpaper, sand the embossed surface of the foil. I drag or tap an ink pad directly to add the color!
