An older technique with a new stamp set. I am sharing the Stained Glass Humming Greeting Card. For some, this will be a new technique, and for others, this is deja vu, but either way, it is an awesome technique with the hummingbird for the stamp set Thoughtful Expressions.
I’ve tried with the black heat embossing and the gold leafing. With the detail on the bird, I prefer the black heat emboss to see more of the opening. The gold leaves over more of the image and leaves less opening for the color to shine through.
Replay Of The Stained Glass Technique
This video was recorded during one of my live Create on the Fly. After I finished the broadcast, I remembered my past Stained Glass technique. I was using some foil. I have the older video; if you wish to view that video, click HERE. Note that both are great techniques; one is best in an open window like the one I am sharing today, and the one with foil is for ONE side.
Stained Glass Hummingbird On Window Sheet
I love the look of these hummingbirds on the window sheet. They genuinely look like stained glass ornaments. They are simple to create. Stamp the image with VersaMark and heat embossed with black embossing powder. You can use different powder colors, but the black makes the colors stand out more.
Stained Glass Hummingbird Card Showcase
I love that we can see both sides of the hummingbird with the center window. After I finished this card, I realized that if I wrote inside it, it would appear in the front of the window. I place a full insert in the card to fix that issue for the next card.

Absolutely love this technique with the hummingbird set! Beautiful.
France, I had black embossing powder several years ago whcich flew all over the place when I heated it. I tossed it. Has the powder formula improved?
What kind of ink did you use? Sound it didn’t stick to the ink
