I am excited to share tips for the Layered Florals Folder and 7 Ways To Add Color to the embossed paper. This Layered Florals is a 3D folder, and the impression of the embossed is profound. It is beautiful without adding any extra work/color, but I know many love to add more and more. I will share the basic and seven ways to add color to the embossed cardstock.
Video to share the basics of the Layered Florals Folder and 7 Ways To Add Color
In the video, I shared the basics of embossing cardstock, including embossing the inside of the card. I shared seven ways to add color to the embossed cardstock, including the de-boss side.
No Extra Color
No extra fuss, only embossed on card stock. As I mentioned above, this folder leaves a beautiful deep embossed print that is gorgeous without any extra fuss.
For some, I just added a greeting, and for some, I added an element.
The birds are cut out with the Deckeled Circle dies out of the Flight & Airy Designer paper. The Flight & Airy paper is part of the Sale A Bration offer, free with a qualified order. The offer ends February 29, 2024, or while supplies last, whichever comes first.
Add Ink Inside The Folder
This technique can be applied on white and color card stock. For this folder, tap the ink pad directly inside the folder on the side of the Stampin’Up! Logo. Place the card stock in the folder and emboss in the cut and emboss machine using platform 1 and plate 4.
To wash the folder, it is simple: just run water on the folder, no need of soap. Dry with a hand towel, and you are ready for the next project.
White card stock with Bubble Bath ink.
Bubble Bath card stock with Pebbled Path ink
Lemon Lolly card stock with Misty Moonlight. *The card stock color for the card base is Night of Navy. When using it on a color card stock, the ink color will appear darker, so this is why I use the Night Of Navy card base with the Misty Moonlight ink. You can also use the brayer to add ink to the folder.
If you wish to have more ink on the background, miss the folder with the Spritz bitter and water on the folder where you tap the ink.
Add Ink Inside The Folder On The De-Boss Side
this card uses the de-boss side; it is the back of the embossed side. Tap the ink pad on the raised side to add color to the backside. The same technique then above, but the ink is applied to the other side of the folder *still inside but the other side.
Add Ink With Water Painter
This technique works better on watercolor paper. I am adding ink with water painter in the groove of the folders.
Color With sponge Dauber and Blending Brush
When adding color with the sponge dauber or the blending brush, my best tip is to be light on the pressure of your hand when adding the ink color.
Add Color With Write Markers and Stampin’ Blends
You can color the embossed flower using the write markers and the Stampin’ Blends. This takes longer than the other technique, but you can add many colors to one piece of embossed card stock.
Ink Dierect On The Embossed Card Stock
After shooting the video three times, I forgot to share this technique, but I did add a short video at the end of the video. This technique is the quickest way to add color to tab an ink pad directly on the embossed card stock.
Mixing Technique To Add Color
Here, I mix a few techniques to create these cards. In short, you can let your creativity run wild with this folder. ENJOY!
Embossing Card Base
In the video, I share how to emboss the card base. There is no need for an extra layer if you are using a Vanilla or White card base.
