Today, I am sharing some Easy Tips for Coloring Saint Nicholas. The stamp and dies set can be viewed on page 11 of the September-December mini catalog (Stampin’Up!® Holiday catalog). I have always loved an old-fashioned Saint Nick, and in this set are two different images of Saint Nick.
If coloring is not your favorite, no worries; I have tips for creating beautiful cards without coloring.
Video Easy Tips For Coloring Saint Nicholas
In this video, I have tips for coloring with watercolor pencils without water, using blender pens, and Stampin’ Blends. Not only adding color on white or vanilla cardstock but also color cardstock.
Watercolor with Blender Pen
This set of cards is colored with watercolor and a blender pen. Yes, I use a watercolor pencil without water. This technique is excellent on color cardstock. All is explained in the video.
I stamped on Crumb Cake with Black Memento ink.
If you don’t have time to color the entire image, adding the with really brings the image to life.
The image is stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white on Blackberry Bliss. The gifts, fur, bag, and mitten are colored with watercolor pencils and a blender pen.
Color With Stampin’ Blends
Coloring with Stampin’ Blends is another excellent way to color Saint Nicholas. Don’t forget you can also color on color cardstock with Stampin’ Blends. If choosing color card stock, remember that a medium color is best; dark will not show much. Here are some of the colors that I love to use: Gray Granite, Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Lost Lagoon, Balmy Blue, and Petal pink.
The fur using light Smoky Slate and the lifter to lighten the gray even more, is beautiful for the fur on this old Saint Nick.
New to color with watercolor or Stampin’ Blend, give it a try. You’ll be amazed how simple it is.
