The beautiful Grassy Grove stamp set is not just great for creating some masculine cards. Come check out my beautiful Grassy Grove Sponging Scenery For Christmas and More.
Before I detail, I want to thank Sara Hoogendoorn for teaching this beautiful scenery at our team retreat last spring. Sara is talented in sponging scenery, and I was so blessed to learn many tips from her. Thank YOU so much, Sara, for sharing with our team.
This is round 20 for Christmas year-round. I love using a standard stamp set or designer paper like this month for Christmas cards, Christmas die, or stamp sets for everyday occasions. However, would you like to stretch your product for more than one occasion? If so, make sure to follow my series of Christmas and Year-round.
How to Create a Simple Scenery With Blending Brushes and Grassy Grove
I hare hoe to sponge a winter scenery using the Blending Brush. The sponge scenery is much easier than it looks. After watching the video, try it, and always finish your card before judging your work.
Winter Scenery In Blues
Both cards are monochromatic, one in gray and one in the blues. Both only use two colors each, and both colors are in the same tone. Of course, you could always add more colors, but I think one or two colors are an excellent start for a simple sponging scenery.
The blue is excellent for Christmas. I used Balmy Blue and Night of Navy.
Measurements
- Basic White 8 ½ x 5 ½ score at 4 ¼ card base, 5 ¼ x 4 top layer sponging
- Night Of Navy or Basic Gray 5 ⅜ x 4 ⅛
Winter Scenery In Grays
I added the deer for the gray card, which looks more like a masculine birthday. Although changing the greeting to Merry Christmas would also look lovely, I want to show versatility.
