I have a beautiful tutorial for you all today. I will share how to create a Natural Marble Background Technique. If you like me and love the vintage look and sepia tones, I bet today’s card will be calling your attention.
BC Wright inspired me with these lovely backgrounds on vellum. It uses Natural Stampin’ Blends and 91% Alcohol.
Video On How To Create The Natural Marble Background
In this video, I share how to create the natural marble background on vellum, plus how to create beautiful flowers for the focal point.
Marble Background and Copper Showcase
In the video, I share many great tips, and one of the most important ones is to make the marble on the backside and emboss the greeting, flower on the front. If you choose to keep the flowers in the natural tones, then you can do both on the same side, but to have the flower white or vanilla, it has to separate. All is explained in the video.
The cards above are using the stampin’ Blends Soft Sued Dark, Bronze and Ivory.
The cards below are using the Natural Stampin’ Blends #100, #300, #400, #600. In the natural colors, I would say from the 100 to 600 would work lovely.
Emboss with Black Embossing Powder
The card above is the only one that I adhere to the vellum of Very Vanilla. It is more of a vintage look than the white but both are lovely.
Measurements
- Basic White 8 ½ x 5 ½ score at 4 ¼ card base
- Early Espresso 4 x 5 ¼
- Vellum 5 ½ x 4 ¼ (after the vellum is glued to the white piece it will be trim to the size of the cardstock)
- Basic White or Very Vanilla 5 ⅛ x 3 ⅞
So is this a technique you want to give a try? It is a fun one and each card are so unique. I know it is a technique that I will make over and over.
