Today, I am sharing a how-to Embossing With Decorative Mask. It is a simple technique, and if you like texture well, I bet you will love what I am about to share.
Last month when I was visiting Holly, she shared this technique with me. I sware I did that before, but I don’t have a video, so maybe I dream about it 🙂 so either way, I am happy to share a video today to show you how to use a decorative mask to emboss with a silicone sheet and the Stampin’cut & Emboss machine.
Video, How To Emboss With A Decorative Mask
In this video, I share tips on embossing with a decorative make, adding blend color with mash, and more information.
Sandwich To Emboss With Decorative Mask
Here the line up to use a decorative mask with the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss machine.
- Platform #1
- Plate #3
- Silicone Sheet
- Cardstock
- Decorative Mask
- Plate #4
Decorative Mask With Daisy
After embossing with the mask, I added some ink to the embossed card stock.
I placed the decorative make back on top of the embossed cardstock on the card above and used the Blending Brush to add ink. The colors for this card are Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight. The card base and top layer are Very Vanilla.
I ink the embossed cardstock directly with the ink pad for this card. Both techniques are shown in the video.
The card base and top layer are basic white.
- Card base 11 x 4 score at 5 ½ or 8 ½ x 5 ½ score at 4 ¼
- Basic Black layer 5 ⅜ x 4 ⅛
- Top Layer 4 x 5 ¼
Highland Heather Card
For the Highland Heather card, this one is embossed on Highland Heather paper and ink directly with Highland Heather also.
- Gorgeous Grape 8 ½ x 5 ½ score at 4 ¼
- Highland Heather 5 ¼ x 4
- Basic White 5 ¼ x 4 inside
Embossed with Mask No Ink Added
I only embossed with the decorative mask for this card, and I didn’t add any ink on the embossed surface.
Inside I use the mask and Crumb Cake ink to add the decorative border.

Decorative Mask with Past
Another great use of the decorative mask is with the past. I have an older video that you can view here. So much you can do with masks; they are a great addition to your craft room.
