It’s a fun fold and a 3-D all in one for today. Today fun fold Pinwheel Tower card will fit in an A-2 size envelope. They are 3-D when opening but lay flat to place in an envelope so friendly to send in the mail.
These pinwheel tower cards stand lovely on a mantel, desk, and such. They make a great 3-D decoration. I bet the recipient will keep this card on display way longer than any other card because it is decoration as it is a card.
The pinwheel card is great for all occasions. Also, these cards would be great for decoration for special holidays. They would add festivity in an office and such.

Pinwheel Tower In A Envelop
This series of pictures shows how this 3-D card can be folded flat to place in an envelope. It’s what I call friendly for mailing.
As I mention in the video when it comes to decorating the card, be very careful. Adding more layers you and embellishment like pearls, ribbon, and such can be tricky to lay the card flat.
May will ask if you will need extra postage, and that is a question for your postmaster.
I did send one to a friend and I didn’t need extra posted but note that I didn’t add any extra layer or embellishment.
It is many sizes of Pinwheel card. The one that I shared today is A-2 in size. A-2 is 5½ x 4¼, so that is our regular size envelopes.
Measurement for an A-2 Pinwheel Tower Card
- Card base Night Of Navy or Gray Granite 5½ x 4-7/8 score at ½, 1¼, 2, 2¾, 3 0f 5½ x 2-1/8
- Beauty Of Earth:
Print #1, 2 of 5-3/8 x 2, 2 of 1¼ x 5-3/8
Print #2, 1 of 5-3/8 x 2, 2 of 1¼ x 5-3/8, 5/8 x 2 - Basic White 2 x 5-3/8
Also, cardstock or designed paper for the die-cut of the trees or flowers. The designer paper is light, so it is great to add layers and keep the card folded flat to place in an envelope.

I do have a question, though. You mention the three pieces that make up the pinwheel base are 5-3/8 x 2. Shouldn’t they be 5-1/2 x 2?

I made one of these cards yesterday for a friend’s up-coming birthday. It was so easy and fun!! Thank you for the good instructions. Since we need to keep the pop-up embellishments down, I got the idea to string gold metallic thread thru the center and tie a bow on the greeting side…really pretty.

Frenchie, I watched your video on Pinwheel Tower card and have a question on the instructions. What side do you score for the tower? I didn’t catch the part where you score it. I think Your measurements work better for A-2 envelope. It would actually work both ways I guess depending on the size of panels. I appreciate all you demonstrate for all stampers. Love these cards. I have made a few of the tower pinwheel cards. My sister thought it was very cute. So easy to make. Your pictured sample with envelope, however, confuses me. It looks very tall, similar to a slimline card. The dimensions you give are the A2 dimensions. Is the photo distorting the height of the card? The envelope you show looks more like a 5×7 envelope than an A2 envelope. Do you have dimensions for a larger tower pinwheel?
