Hello Stampers,
OH! I am so excited to share this Vintage Watercolor with the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. Not often that I do a card that I say OH! It’s frame-worthy. Well, today’s card is the case. I did an extra one and frame it.
Before I go in detail I want to say a big Thank YOU for Kim Jolley for the inspiration.
You can view the how-to video below in this post or like always on my YouTube Channel.
Measurement for the cards
- Basic Black 8½ x 5½ score at 4¼ or 11 x 4¼ score at 5½ Card Base, scrap for the classic label punch out
- First layer Early Espresso or Crumb Cake 5¼ x 4
- Second Layer Watercolor or Crumb Cake 5 x 3¾
- Watercolor paper 2 of 3¼ x 3¼ or bigger for the flower that you will cutout
- Whisper White Thick 5¼ x 4 inside
Background on Crumb Cake
This one the background is on Crumb Cake. When you watercolor on regular cardstock be very gentle on the amount of water. If applying to much water it will dig a hold in the cardstock. The flower it is on watercolor paper.
Background on watercolor paper.
Both the flower and the top layer are both watercolor paper. Watercolor paper is much friendlier when it comes to watercolor.
The magnolia it is a die that coordinates with this set but I choose to hand cut. The reason I didn’t want a border around the flower plus I needed to cut the center out. The coordinate die only cut the outside of the flower so to get the 3-D effect I needed to cut part of the center petals.
Inside the card
I stamped part of the magnolia at the bottom left-hand side. I did watercolor also but again this is NOT watercolor paper inside it is thick whisper white so be very gentle on the amount of water you apply on this paper.
Magnolia Vintage Frame
This frame is calling my name with the vintage and rustic look. I love everything about this frame. I bet many will ask me where I got this frame. I found this at Wal-Mart one of the only stores we have here in town.
The size of the frame is 7¾ x 9½ with the opening of 4½ x 6½. It was a window but I remover the window so I could pop up the magnolia. I used dimensional on both parts of the flower that is the only difference I did on the flower.
Size of cardstock is Basic Black 5 x 7, Early Espresso 4¼ x 6¼, Crumb Cake 4 x 6. You will also need watercolor paper for 2 of the magnolia and scrap basic black for the greeting.

Wow Frenchie! Your cards are gorgeous. Great idea to frame them. I usually have some on my desk, but a frame is much nicer.
Thanks for sharing.
