Vintage card with French Countryside stamp set. technique is clear block background. All

Hello Friends,
For today I have a variation with the French Countryside stamp set and the clear block technique. A great technique for detail stamps that you don’t want to color all the detail. I love the clear block for background color.

The how-to video can be view at the bottom of this post or on my YouTube channel. In the video, I share the vintage, the one with the white background on crumb cake cardstock. All are done the same you just change the color of the ink. Note that in the video I started to say how to clean the block and when on to stamping. Well, to clean the block it is simple, run it in warm water and if you wish you can use dish soap.

Vintage look

The get more of the old look or vintage I sponge heavy on the edge of the top crumb cake layer using Soft Suede ink. Now that the card is done and looking at that picture, I would sponge the card base for a better blend. The stamp image is stamped with Early Espresso.

Background ink

The clear block technique is a quick way to add color with a detailed stamp.
When it comes to detail stamps many are afraid of them cause they don’t like to color all the detail. Don’t be afraid of the detail add color with a clear block. For today’s cards, I use the “D” size clear block with Whisper White craft ink. Exception the last card I use Seaside Spray ink.
If using the white craft ink it is very important to let dry or heat set with the heat tool before stamping your image. If the white still wet your stamp image will bleed. The whisper white craft in its a pigment ink so it takes time to dry.
How long does it take to dry? so many factors play for the time, humidity, temperature and such but overall I would say about 10 minutes.

In Night Of Navy

This is the same I just change the soft suede layer to Night of Navy and the stamp image change to Night of Navy.  The background of this one is the one that I did the 2nd time in the video. So you can ink once and stamp twice before re-inking your block.
