In today’s video, I’m sharing a fun and simple technique. It involves adding color to the debossed side of an embossed piece of cardstock. I’m using the Traditional Wreath embossing folders. This folder is part of the Christmas selection. However, as you’ll see, they can easily be used for birthdays, thank-yous, or any occasion!
This technique gives a soft yet impressive and elegant look. It is perfect for adding that extra touch to your handmade cards.

Traditional Wreath Blackberry Bliss Background
I love the look of these cards. The folder is 6″ x 6 ¼”. I embossed a piece of 6″ x 6″ of Very Vanilla and added all the color. Then I cut it at 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” and 5 ¾” x 1 ½”. This created two stunning cards. The bits and pieces that I trimmed, I used for the inside. See the video for all details.
You don’t have to use 6 x 6 to start with. You can emboss a quarter sheet.
There are no stamping on these cards. I could have used stamps for the greeting or inside. Instead, I use the Ephemera pack for the greeting. The inside includes verses as part of a download for my customer appreciation this month.

I truly believe that just by changing the greetings, it would be perfect for other occasions. It is part of the Holiday catalog, but it can be used for all occasions.
No coloring, just dragging the ink pad.
No need to color all the deboss. Just adding color to the background makes a great card. This is the fastest way to add a bit of color.
I love the blue and vanilla together.
