Using a large flower, like a coneflower, you can create a beautiful card design by featuring just the corner of the bloom. Let me show you how.
So often, we have a large stamp and aren’t quite sure how to use it. We don’t always want the entire image to fill the whole card front. The coneflower stamp from Coneflower Celebrations is a perfect example. Let me show you how I use just a corner of it to create a beautiful, balanced design.
Yellow Coneflower on the Portrait Layout
For this yellow coneflower card, I stamped the image on the bottom left corner of the white layer. This placement leaves plenty of space for a greeting and a butterfly accent. The card is designed in a portrait layout, which helps maintain a clean and elegant composition. Inside the card, I repeated the same layout as the front.
Stampin’ Blends color the coneflower is Daffodil Delight, and the cone is Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Pecan Pie.
Measurements
- Basic White 8 ½” x 5 ½” score at 4 ¼” card base, two of 3 ¼” x 4 ½”.
- Early Espresso tow of 3 ½” x 4 ¾”.
Calypso Coral Coneflower on the Landscape Layout
This lovely Calypso Coral coneflower is also stamped in the left corner, but this time on a landscape layout. Just like the portrait version, there’s plenty of room for a greeting and a butterfly embellishment. Inside the card, I added a smaller portion of the coneflower on the left side, leaving plenty of space to write a personal message.
The Stampin’ Blends colors used for the coneflower are Calypso Coral and Pumpkin Pie. The cone is made up of Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, and Pecan Pie.
Measurements
- Basic White 8 ½” x 5 ½” score at 4 ¼” card base, two of 3 ¼” x 4 ½”.
- Early Espresso tow of 3 ½” x 4 ¾”.
- Calypso Coral, two of 1′ x 4 ¼”.
