Basic Color to showcase the Coneflower. I’m using all basic colors—Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic White, and Basic Beige. Sometimes, flowers don’t need to be bold or colorful to make a statement. A neutral palette can be just as striking and sophisticated. Also, these colors would be great for a get-well or sympathy card. What do you think of using neutrals for floral designs?
Measurements
- Basic Beige 10 ¾” x 4 ⅛”, 1 ¾” x 1 for die-cut cone.
- Very Vanilla 4″ x 5 ¼”, 3 ¾” x 5″.
- Basic White 2 ½” x 4 ¼” die-cut coneflower, 1″ x 3 ¾”, 3 ¼” x 4 ½”.
- Basic Black 4 ¼” x 5 ½”, 1 ¼” x 4″, ½” x 4″ for die-cut the circle strip.
Inside the card, I stamp the Coneflower in the bottom left corner and the butterfly in the top right corner with Basic Beige. The greeting is stamped with Memento Black ink.
I created a layered effect with the Coneflower on this card. On the Very Vanilla layer, I used a die to cut out the coneflower shape. Behind it, I placed a layer of Basic Beige, allowing the color to show through the die-cut opening. Then, I topped it with a Basic White die-cut coneflower, slightly offset to reveal the layers underneath. This subtle shift adds depth and visual interest while maintaining a soft and neutral look.
