Oh! What to call today share, not only that I am sharing how to Embossing With Decorative Mask but so many tips the Abundant Beauty Mask and to turn the Sun Flower into a Dahlia.
Replay Of The Live Broadcast Of Embossing With Decorative Mask
The video below is a replay of one of my Live broadcasts, “Create On The Fly.” I share tips with the Abundant Beaut Decorative Mask and tips to create an opening in front of a card for a window.
Abundant Beauty Decorative Mask Showcase
The beauty of doing a window card is the front stays inside, so you have the decoration inside without any extra effort.
I share so much in the video for this card. Here are some of the tips I shared in the video.
- How to Emboss with the decorative mask.
- How to use two colors with the Houndstooth pattern mask.
- How I turn the sunflower mask into a dahlia flower.
- Tips with the Circle Deckled Dies
- How to stamp on ribbon
It isn’t easy to show the embossed effect in a picture, but it is lovely, just like an embossing folder.
The ribbon that I used on this card is the Natural Finish ribbon in the clearance rack. It resembles the Natural ribbon on page 77 of the holiday catalog.
I stamped it with Blackberry Bliss ink. Our regular ink is water-based ink, and they stamp lovely on this ribbon.
Using the Sunflower mask is simple to create the look of a dahlia flower. Just laying all tree size change the look of the flower. Note that the flowers are hand-cut.
Measurements
- Very Vanilla 8-½ x 5-1/5 score at 4-¼, toy layer embossed with mask 4 x 5-¼, 4 x 5 for leaves and flowers.

Front Window Inspired by Jill Card with the Autumn Leaves
When I create on the fly, I usually have an image of what I want to make in my mind. I received this lovely Autumn Leaves card from Jill Olsen and was inspired to create a front window. I was on a mission to use the decorative mask, but I also wanted to do the window. I love it when I get inspired, and from one thing leads to another, and so on… Thank you, Jill, for the inspiration.
Measurement
- Crumb Cake 8-½ x 5-1/5 score at 4-¼, 4 x 5-¼
- a scrap of Very Vanilla

Watched your replay. I have never seen anything with stencils before. I love the card you made. I learned alot. Emboss with stencils, how great is that. I truly think the flower looks like a dahlia. My grandmother grew dahlias the size of dinner plates. They got so big, that she had to stake them up or they would fall over.
Thanks Frenchie for all your great ideas.
Glad you enjoy the video now time to try the mask 🙂
Watched the replay. Absolutely amazing card and techniques. Embossing with a stencil/mask, new technique for me. You are a pleasure to watch create!
So glad you enjoy the video have a great day
I like it without the leaves on the inside. Very nice card. Love it.
