The discussion for today is about the Softly Sketched With Or Without Color. I love how the Softly Sketched once you stamp with it. It indeed looks like a pencil drawing. It is such an easy set to work with, with or without color, and it is beautiful.
Without the color, I like the Basic Gray the best for the look of the pencil drawing. With color, I do prefer the Stampin’ Blends. Coloring with the Stampin’ Blends is simple with this designer. The shading is part of the designer, so just light coloring is just what we need. I have the how-to video and many samples below.
Tip Video For The Softly Sketched With Or Without Color
In this video, you will find many great tips to add color to the stamp image with Stampin’ Blends or Water Painter. Also, I share the difference in color ink for just the stamping without any extra coloring.
Without Colors
It depends on the occasion you need a card, but I love this set without color. With the Basic Gray, it indeed looks like a pencil sketch. My hubby does pencil sketches, which remind me of them.
If gray is not for you, here it is with Old Olive. This is just stamped, nothing but ink and stamp.
Blending Color with Water Painter
Soon I did the stamping; I used the Water Painter and blended the ink. It just gives that extra one of green onto the stamped image.
The card below the one on the left is only ink, and I added water to blend the ink for the one on the right. Again, this is on regular cardstock.
With Color, Stampin’ Blends
For the one colored with Sampin’ Blends, the stamping was using Memento black ink. I did the leaves in Old Olive and some with Mossy Meadow and both a touch of Daffodil Delight. The grapes’ colors are listed below each card.
