The Floating Shape Technique showcase and more from last Mystery Stamping with Holly and me. This is a great technique to use scraps of card stock and also scraps of designer paper.
If you miss the live broadcast, I have the recording below.

Measurements
- Basic White 4¼ x 11score at 5-½ card base
- Acetate 2-¼ x 3-½
- Two each of 4 coordinating colors 2-¼ x ⅜
- Scrap for the flower and leaves, Blackberry Bliss, and Granny Apple Green.
Large Floating Shapes
I love the big shape for the Floating Shape Technique. All three of the big ones that I created are in neutral colors. I like the neutral color, and the flower sure stands out lovely. I have some great tips in the video for large shapes using grid paper.
The colors for the strips are Basic Bray, Smoky Slate, Very Vanilla, Gray Granite, and Pebbled Path.
Measurements
- Basic White 4¼ x 11score at 5-½ card base
- Acetate 4 x 5-¼
- Two each of 4 coordinating colors 4 x ⅜
- Scrap for the flower and leaves, Blackberry Bliss, and Granny Apple Green.
The flowers on the card above are Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, and Calypso Coral.
I bet many will ask me what dies set this big 3-½ circle is from. Well, it is from the Circle Collection from years ago. So if you have large shapes dies, dust them off and give it a try. They are great for this technique.
The flowers are all with the Fresh Freesia I embossed in the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. The texture of the embossing looks excellent on the punch-out flowers.
