Rainbow Resist Joseph's Coat Technique with the stamp set Reasons To Smile

Today I am sharing the Rainbow Resist Joseph’s Coat Technique with the stamp set Reasons To Smile. This card was created last month during a live broadcast on Facebook. I bet all these bright color shocks you coming from Frenchie’s creation, but I like to surprise you once in a while.

The Joseph’s Coat Technique is not new, but the background color is with Stampin’ Blend instead of ink for this card. WOW, Stampin’ Blends are much easier for this technique and more vivid. I was inspired by Tina’s “Passport Pal” to create the Rainbow cheerful card.

Replay from Live Facebook Broadcast

As I mentioned, I shared this card live on Facebook last month. You can watch the replay below. If you can’t access the Facebook replay, click here. I downloaded it on YouTube.

Stampin’Up! Colors

The color list below is in the order that I color the piece of  5 1/4 x 4 Basic White. About strips of ¾” for each color.

Step-by-step

  1. On a piece of Basic White, add strips of color with Stampin’ Blends
  2. Stamp the image using Versa Mark
  3. Heat emboss with CLEAR powder
  4. Using a Black Memento ink sponge or drag the ink pad (do at your own risk) to cover the entire surface of the Rainbow paper. *The embossed image will resite the ink.
  5. Using a towel or paper towel, wipe off the ink from the embossed image.
  6. Assemble card as di=esirer.

Rainbow Color with the Reasons To Smile

The stamp set Reasons To Smile is a great set to showcase the Rainbow Resist Joseph’s Coat Technique. Other stamp sets that would be great for this technique are any bold image stamps; fine detail stamps are not the best to showcase the Joseph’s Coat technique.

Measurements

  • Starry Sky 11 x 4 ¼ score at 5 ½
  • Tahitian Tide or Parakeet Party 5 ½ x 4 ¼ for the Scalloped Frame
  • Basic White 2 of 5 ¼ x 4, one for Joseph’s technique and one inside.

The Basic White cardstock inside the bottom is embossed with the Elegant Eucalyptus 3-D folder.
