Time to create cards with your stash of Designer Paper that you have been saving for a particular card. Today I am sharing Designer Paper Diagonal Cards. These cards are so simple because the designer paper is beautiful, so there is no need for extra effort to have a wow card.
I shared the how-to during a live broadcast, “Create On The Fly” since then, I have done a few extra ones to share different prints of designer paper. The diagonal card technique applies to most Designer Paper—the perfect way to use all that paper for a special occasion. I know many of you are afraid to cut the beautifully printed paper, but you bought it to create, not to collect duct, so time to create!
FYI This Friday, Holly and I will be live on YouTube for a Mystery Stamping. Detail below.
Replay On How To Create Diagonal Cards With Designer Paper
The video below was recorded live last month or so. I share how to create two different sizes of diagonal cards and how to cut a 12 x 12 to make twelve or nice cards.
Twelve Cards Out Of One Sheet Of 12 X 12
With a sheet of 12 x 12 cutting in 4″ section, each strip of 4 x 12 cut increment of 5 ¼ will finish with six pieces of 4 x 5 ¼ and 4 x 1 ½ (save these pieces for other cards of adhering inside).
With the 4 x 5 ¼ cut diagonal and each piece, you will create two cards, a total of twelve. All explained in the video.
measurement
- Basic White 11 x 4 or 8 ½ x 5 ½ card base, scrap for the elements
- Blushing Bride 4 x 5 ¼
- Pretty Prints Designer paper 4 x 5 ¼
For this split style of the diagonal card, it is best to cut both the card stock and the designer paper at the same time for a perfect fit.
This is the exact measurement then the cards above, but the designer paper is the Sun Prints, Card stock Night Of Navy, and Basic White. The Daisy is Daffodil Delight.
Nine Card With 12 X 12 Sheet Of Designer Paper Cut at Four Inch
For the 4 x 4, you will cut the paper into strips of 4″ then cut each strip in 4″ increments. This will give you nine pieces of 4 x 4 out of one sheet of 12 x 12. Each 4″ square cut or tear diagonal does not need to measure the diagonal. Just adhere to one portion at the top and one at the bottom. You will have a nice diagonal border to stamp your greeting.
Card base the top is Sahara Sand, below Blushing Bride. Both are with the Pretty Prints Designer Paper.
The Rustic Harvest card base is Cajun Craze.
Measurements
- Card base 11 x 4 ¼
- Designer paper 4 x 4 cut or tore diagonal
