Today I am sharing the Oceanfront Easy Frame. The frame is one piece of card stock but indeed looks like four pieces. I love the faux illusion of this frame, and I have all detail to create this lovely frame.
The scenery in the frame is from the stamp set Oceanfront, and the element of the pelican is from the stamp set wave Of Inspiration. Although this is beach scenery, changing the picture to the frame would be simple.
A beautiful frame card would be great for all occasions. I bet the recipient would use the card for decorating a desk or mantel and such. Remember, a text can not be displayed on a mantel or desk!
How to Create A Faux Illusion Frame
The video was recorded during a live broadcast. So I share how to create the frame and beach scenery from start to finish.
Oceanfront Frame Card
The beauty of this card, I will admit, is the frame. I love the faux illusion of this frame, and it is so simple to create. To create the corner, I used a post-it note at a 45-degree angle to make the faux illusion with blending brushes and ink. No need to do any math to create this angle, just from one corner to the other corner, and voila! You have the angle needed to complete the faux illusion. All is shown in the video.
The cardstock for the frame is Smoky Slate and sponged with Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz to look like weathered wood.
Measurements
- Basic White Thick 11 x 4 ¼ score at 5 ½ card base
- Basic White 5 ¼ x 4, 1 ¼ x 3
- Smoky Slate 5 ½ x 4 ¼ die-cut the center with the 3 x 4 ⅜ rectangle stitched die.
