I am sharing the Masking Technique for a Silhouette On Linen Paper. The silhouette looks great on the linen paper and would look great on cardstock, but something about the specialty linen paper gives that wow factor.
The linen paper was released last year and was collecting bust in my craft room, but now that I have been creating with it, I don’t think it will have any chance to collect more dust. I love the result of these cards that I made with linen paper. So stay tuned for more with the linen paper.
Technique Video with Linen Paper
This video that I shared last month is loaded with tips and different techniques using linen paper. The video will start at the masking-silhouette section. But, of course, you are always welcome to rewind and watch the entire video.
Silhouette Linen Card Showcase
For the silhouette, it is the die-cut for Meadow dies. The pink around the outline is just the bleeding from the ink. Then I spritz with is the Soft Suede with the 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. After the spritzing, let dry, peel the backing and adhere to a piece of card stock. Optional you can stamp and emboss it with your favorite folder. The splatter is a stamp in the Season of Chic, stamped with Soft Suede and Crumb Cake. For the embossing, I use the Timeworn Type 3D folder.
The border inside it is the splatter stamp in the Season Of Chic stamp with Blushing Bride.
Measurement
- Blushing Bride 8 ½ x 5 1/5 score at 4 ¼ card base.
- Soft Suede 3 ¾ x 3 ¼
- Basic White and Linen paper 3 ½ x 3
- Very Vanilla 5 ¼ x 4 inside
For this one, ONE drop of Night Of Navy with the alcohol. The background is the linen paper on basic white and emboss. The silhouette and the background are embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D folder. The center and greeting layers are all die-cut with the Deckle Rectangle dies.
Measurements
- Basic White 11 x 4 ¼ score at 5 ½ card base,
- Basic White and Linen: 3 ¾ x 5, 2 ½ x 3 ¾ die-cut with retangle deckle 2 ¼ x 3 ½, 1 ½ x 2 ¾ die-cute with retangle deckle 2 ⅜ x 1.
- Basic Black 4 x 5 ¼, 3 x 4 die-cut 2 ⅝ x 3 ⅞, 3 x 1 ½ die-cut with 2 ¾ x 1 ⅜.
Inside I adhered to the die-cut that I used for the silhouette.
