Hello Stampers,
Today I am sharing how you can add color to embossed foil paper. All cards that I am sharing today are using the copper or champagne foil paper embossed with the Evergreen Forest embossing folder. This folder is so pretty with foil paper. No need to do much to have a sticking card.
I have the how-to video below or you can view it on my YouTube channel. The video has extra tips for embellishment, I say a must-watch.
How to add color to embossed foil paper
- Emboss the foil paper. Make sure that you emboss the foil side raised up.
- Using low-grade sandpaper sand the embossed foil paper.
- Wipe off the sand dust.
- To add the color use dark a color ink. You can sponge the ink with a sponge or drag the ink pad.
- Using a paper towel or rag wipe the surface of the inked foil paper. Where it was sanded it will absorb the ink and the rest will wipe off.
- All is shown in the video.
Copper and Mossy Meadow
The picture is no justice to show the color tone on the foil. I love that we have different tones with the foil, sand part and ink. So lovely to add a little more to these simple cards.
Check this one out! This one I wanted some 1/4″ Mossy Meadow for the antique slider, well I don’t have any so I cut a strip of 4 x 1/4 of card stock and VOILA! we have a way to add the slider without ribbon. Note that when you cut your strip of cardstock to the ¼ just cut a little off of the ¼ so it will slide easy.
Champagne and Night Of Navy
The card base for this one I use Gray Granite is the color choice with Champagne and nigh of Navy.
Champagne Foil and Mossy Meadow
Another must-see! If you notice the little embellishment on the tag and wondering what it is here you go. I use a ¼ punch hold, the one that we use for the paper to fit in a ring binder and punch out from the foil paper and adhere with glue dots.
Emboss without extra color
It is still very pretty without any extra colors. These are so quick yet so beautiful. I added the Antique Corner & Slider on this one, The corner just use glue dots to adhere them. The beautiful ribbon is the Early Espresso Suede. Layer Early Espresso.

Beautiful cards with the foil and the embossing. I was wondering how to color on the foil. I did some a few years ago and it has finally dried! Thank you.

Hello, I don’t see the tree embossing folder? Can I still get it please?
What grade of sand paper did you use? I asked my husband for a very fine paper and I think it was too fine. Your help will sure be appreciated.
