I am so excited to share how to sponge this amazing sunset or could be a harvest moon. You will be amazed at how simple it is, even to the one that says they are challenged at sponging this should be easy for you all. .
I made a template with a window sheet. When sponging with the window sheet for the template it will help spreading the ink and also no wast for the ink. Did I say it is amazing?
I have the video below or you can view it on my YouTube channel.
- Whisper White 8½ x 5½ score at 4¼ card base, 5 x 3¾ top layer
- Calypso Coral 5¼ x 4
- Window Sheet 5½ x 4¼, die cut the 2-3/8 circle (I die cut the circle about 1″ from top and ¾ from the right-hand side)
Tip to use a window sheet for a template
Using a die to die cut the shape you wish to sponge. In this case, I use the 2-3/8 circle die. Note that the edge of the open is sharp a little so it could fray the sponge a little but I did over 160 cards and my sponge are still usable.
When you start sponging start on the window sheet coming inside the opening. This is the magic of the smooth sponging. It will put some of the ink onto the window sheet and you will push the ink inside the opening so this way it is not a big “chunk” of ink onto the cardstock. Each time you add more ink onto your sponge ALWAYS starts onto your window sheet. This is such a sweet way to sponge. All is shown in the video.
To hold the window sheet into place onto my cardstock I use a small piece of removable double-sided tape. I use the same piece of window sheet for all the cards that I made yes over 160 and only change the tape about 4 times.
I bet you are thinking I use some Calypso Coral l for the ink, nope I did NOT. I started on the edge with Cherry Cobbler and then cover it all with Daffodil Delight. See below some I have more red and some more yellow. I just love how this combo turned out.
The layer for the cardstock yes it is Calypso Coral but not think.
The greeting and the tree I stamp with Mossy Meadow ink.
For the inside, I only stamp the tree at the bottom right side. So this card has plenty of space to write your message to your love one.
