Hello Friends,
Want to learn how to do some simple Sting Art? Yes it look complicated but with the Heart Doilies it is so simple and easy.
First when Jackie send me the request I was OH! my this will take me forever to make. Well I was wrong, it is very quick with the Heart Doilies and the Metallic Thread. I try with the Stitched Die also and they are easy but a little more patient needed for them. I will share many more cards of the Sting Art with some of the Stitched die.
Today I am sharing just the Doilies but in the video I share both the Doilies and the some with the Stitched So Sweet dies.
I have the how to video below or you can view on my YouTube Channel.
Rococo Rose card
When we see the hearts doilies I bet we all think of valentine. With the Rococo Rose card you can see this would be for many more occasion then just valentine. Wedding, Birthday, Get Well Wishes, sending love in the mail and so on this string art doilies would be great for many occasion.
Now I bet when you see the Heart Doilies on page 9 of the mini catalog, you will think of other occasion then just Valentine.
The Doilies come in Red and Pink. The back of the Doilies are white so it can sponge in any color you wish for or use the white side with color thread.
Measurement
- Whisper White card base 8½ x 5½ score at 4¼
- Rococo Rose 5¼ x 4 *only emboss 3/4 of this piece with the Country Floral embossing folder. This will leave a smooth portion of the cardstock to stamp your greeting.
- Rose Metallic Sting *no measurement I cut about 30 inch and when that run out I s=keep adding more. All is show in the video on how to keep adding more sting. 30″ is about how much I would start with, if it is longer it tend to get tangle.
Red and Black
This one I only emboss 3/4 of the black cardsock with the Country Floral folder. I kept about 1¼ inch not emboss so I could stamp the greeting with VersaMark and heat emboss with Silver embossing Powder. For the sting I use the silver metallic.
Measurement
- Card Base Silver Foil-Edged card
- Real Red 5¼ x 4
- Basic Black 5 x 3¾
- Silver Metallic Thread start with 30″ and keep adding
The heart doilies are the best one to give it a try, they are so easy with the bigger hold to weave your sting. Give it a try and I bet you will be amaze of the result.
