What inspired me to use the Sailing Home with the white ink for background? Oh! the thing that inspire me. If you look at the memories and more card pack you will find a card that look like what I created.
Well long story short Estie one of my teammate did a card for a challenge using a card from Come Sail Away memories and more pack and I was in awwwwh. I wanted to re create that white wash background, so I put my thinking cap on and Voila! The funny part I didn’t realize it was a card from the memories and more till I come to stamp the light house. It caught me by surprise that the light house was not the same, that is when I realize hers was from the memories and more, see picture below.
So now you can make your own beautiful white ink background that I discover by accident. I love it when I can replicate a background that was a print and I can do it with ink and paper.
This card above is the one Estie send for a challenge. The card that inspired me to make my card for today.
I have the how to video below in the post or you can see on my You Tube Channel.
- Night of Navy 8½ x 5½ score at 2-1/8 and 4¼
- Come Sail Away Designer paper 2 of 2 x 5-3/8
- Seaside Spry 4¼ x 2¼
- silver Foil 2 x 1½
- Whisper White 5¼ x 4 inside
Tip for the white ink background
To get the white background on a color cardstock just tap the ink pad direct on the catdstock and also drag the edge of the pad to smooth the ink.
Very import before you stamp the image in this case the light house in night of navy ink, you want to let dry the white ink if not the color will smear. It is craft ink so it will take time to dry or you can use the heat tool.
How to get the look of aged anchor
This is so simple to get the anchor look age. Die cut the anchor with the die from Smooth Sailing out of silver foil then using the Stazon ink drag it on the anchor. Yes that simple and it give that great look of a used or aged anchor.
How to Video
In the video I share how to make the white ink background, the aged anchor and assemble the card.
