Hello Stampers
Well today it’s all about your paper trimmer. After many use it’s like a car it need a good tune up. It is amazing how better the blade slide after a good tune up.
Here what you will need is some W-40 or lemon Oil or another thing that work great is the little adhesive remover pad. You will need to wipe all surface, the track, the arm and then a toot brush to clean the mat/track. If you cut glimmer paper all the glimmer get inside the track and the toot brush will remove that also small piece of paper get in there. Q-Tip will come in handy for the track trust me after so many miles all product need a good tuneup. Also the cutting blade need to be change just like you would change the tire on your car 🙂 but trust me you will know when it is time to change the blade, the cut get frayed then you know it time for a new blade.

Great information. I am going to clean my paper cutter today. Thanks!
I have cleaned my trimmer many, many times. I have used alcohol and never thought about WD40. I have the problem now of some of the numbers and marks no visible on the cutting arm. I wish SU would sell that separately as well but know that they never will.Thank you for all of your great videos.
Thanks so much for this wonderful tip. I use my cutter a lot!
Great tips! Thank you!

Thanks very much for the tips on cleaning your paper trimmer.
In Australia we call WD 40 Possum Pee as it stinks! Also great for keeping the blade sharp just soak in wd40!
Thank you for your WD40 cleaning tip for cutter.
Love your blog. Unfortunately, my SU TRIMMER has never cut well no matter what I’ve tried. It always acts like the blade is dull even when I Just change it . The only way it will cut is if I flip the rubber piece to the flat (no groove) side. Finally gave up and use an old school cutter I got at a garage sale !
I am a Stampin’ up Rep and I have complained about this along with six of my customers. It does not matter how clean you keep it nor how many time you change the blade it will shread the paper or leave the fuzzy pieces on it. The refused to tell me who the manufacturer it but what I do know is the had 5 Mills printing there paper and are now down to 2 Mills. For the price we have to pay we should all throw a fit. Their paper cuts exactly like the Darice paper
I complained about the same exact problem. When I called the rep said, “It could possibly been a bad batch of blades.” and they sent me some new ones. Nope…paper still comes out all frayed. Annoying…it worked so well for so long and then just puked out on me.
I found your idea for cleaning the stampin up cutter. I was so frustrated that I couldn’t use it because the blade wouldn’t go down the track. I tried your method of cleaning it and it’s like the cutter is brand new. THANK YOU!! Now I don’t have to buy a new one or give this one up.
Hello. I just did this today and what a difference it made! I thought I’d have to change my cutting blade once again but the cleaning did the trick. Thank you so much for posting this.
I would like to apply for a job as your proofreader. While the information provided is excellent the misspelled words are very distracting and take away from your credibility. Please contact me if my help is needed
I agree with you completely. I thought it was a joke with all the misspelling.
Rude
Very, Very helpful. I’m going to work on my cutter. The metal string broke a while ago but it still works.
I have never placed a comment on here before — I am a fairly new card-maker, but the comments of Jane and Sherri (above) just floored me. It must be nice to be perfect. You ladies need to learn how to relax, use your manners, and get a life, and stop being so critical. Get a grip!!
This lady admitted she had an accent, and she has freely provided some very important information for us here for us to use, and I appreciate it very much!!
Thank you for your support
I agree 100% with you…
I know this was posted a while ago but I feel I must comment aswell as I totally agree with you, they should be ashamed of themselves the way the comments were made !!
I had to learn to speak and spell again as I had a head injury, and I get days when I mix words up etc and this is one of the main reasons why I feel people SHOULD NEVER JUDGE OR CRITICISE !!
Thank you for the tips ☺️
Why did Stampinup stop selling trimmer blades? I can’t find them anywhere on their sight. I believe it is a bad business practice to treat the thousands of trimmer owners so poorly. Don’t you? I complained to Stampinup directly, but all I got was the excuse that they had supplier problems. Simple solution, change suppliers.
So glad to find this…will try it today. Thanks. Karen
Thank you for the tips on the paper cutter. If it makes it last longer, it’s worth it.
Very good advice.
Hi there,
Do you have any tricks to sharpening the old school paper cutter with the blade?
If so, please send it my way.
Thanks much,
