Hello Friends
Hope you didn’t party to late last night for the Super Bowl and you are all rested for this week. Today technique is the Straw blowing background. What you need is a straw, re-inker of your choice and glossy card stock #102599. This make me very light headed but someone suggest to use the can of air I try it and for me it was very powerful so I would have to practice a bit more to use the can of air. Here some combination that I try
- Pool Party, Crumb Cake, So Saffron (this one was for the fish I use lots of pool party and little of the other)
- Old Olive, Rose Red, Bashful Blue
- Pool Party, Not Quite Navy, Regal Rose
- Wild Wasabi, Regal Rose, So Saffron (card tomorrow on my blog with that one)
- Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum. Pretty In Pink
- Crumb Cake, Tango Tangerine, So Saffron
- Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze
I would say play with colors but don’t judge your combination till you stamp your image. It look not to good till you stamp your image on top of your background. Many of them I wanted to toss in the trash and after I stamp a image it look great. The stamp set that I use for all these card is By the Tide on page 19 in the spring catalog. To stamp on top of the background for a brighter image I would suggest black StazOn but you can use color ink to but it was not be so sharp you can see the one with the shell and Sea Horse I use So Saffron and Soft Sued. Well this is perfect for my Masculine Monday and tomorrow I will have a lovely flower card with this technique. To view video always at www.frenchiestamps.com Have a great week

France… Good Morning, what beautiful cards. I've tried the straw technique and it does make you light-headed. Didn't have much success with it. I will try it again.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Hugs 'N Blessings
Love the cards. I always enjoy learning new techniques. Thanks Have a good week.
Hi Francine,
How about using a a fireplace fanner(I can't think of the name of it but you sqeeze the handles together and it will blow out air. You use it to get a fire started) It's called a Bellows. You may have to tack down your paper though.
Have a great day.
You always have the best videos!! What about using one of those bulb things that you use to get the 'snot' out of babies noses. That might work! would take longer though. love your cards!!
Using a straw is like blowing up balloons to me. I had sucess with the color spritzer. Depending on how close you hold the spritzer to the paper, will depend on the air force you get.
I hadn't heard of blowing the ink through a straw. I only knew about the air can technique. I tried that one & didn't like the mess I made at all. Then I watched your video, and thought “Aha”! Much more control. I like your way much better. Love your pink & yellow card with the flower! And I so much enjoy your videos!
I had never heard of this technique and I love the way the background looks. Cant wait to try it. Thanks for the video.
Thank you Frenchie for sharing this. I am looking for interesting techniques for my classes and I think this would be perfect and a little humerous with us all sitting around blowing.
Thanks for sharing.
