For today’s, I am sharing tips to add color to the Beautifully Penned Designer Paper. This Beautifully Penned paper comes in black and white. If you wished to have it in colors that are a simple fix, I would share three simple ways to add colors.
Coloring with Ink, Blending Brushes, Stampin’ Blends, Soft Pastel are three simple ways to add colors to the black and white paper. The great news about black and white paper is choosing the color you wish to have the paper. So, in short, you can get any colors of your choice.
Tip video to add color to the Beautifully Penned Designer Paper.
In this video, I share how to color the Beautifully Penned paper with ink, pastel, and blends. All three techniques are unique and simple. Let me share the simplicity of coloring this designer paper.
Coloring with Ink and Blending Brushes
Coloring with the blending brushed and ink is the fasted way to add color to the designer paper. I choose ONE color for each panel of the cards, so it is no detail, just a splash of color.
Some prints for these two cards. I color the one on the left with Highland Heather and Old Olive, and the one on the left is without color. Note that the ink was Highland Heather, and the card stock is Fresh Freesia.
For this one, the ink is Flirty Flamingo that I brush over and over. For a better match, I use Poppy Parade cardstock.
Coloring With Soft Pastels
If you loft a soft look on the designer paper, coloring with soft pastels is the way to go.
One of the questions that many ask about the Soft Pastels is if I spray my finish card with a sealer. The answer is NO. I don’t feel the need to spay the finished card. Maybe if someone you rub the card over and over, then the pastel would fade, but I don’t think the recipient would do that 🙂
It is amazing the difference between the two cards—both as is own beauty, but it looks like a different paper.
Stampin’ Blends to add colors.
Coloring with the Stampin’ Blends is time-consuming; however, it is the technique that you can add more detail to your paper. I say time-consuming, that is to compare with the other two techniques. I would say to color this card. It took me less than 10 minutes.
The colors of blends on this card are Flirty Flamingo, Highland Heather, and Old Olive.
All cards are the same measurement
